If you are on a low income, unemployed, are disabled, have a pension or receive other state benefits you may qualify for housing benefit.
Daventry District Council looks after the payment of housing benefit, but we can give you advice and help you to complete the application forms.
Contact 01327 707500 to find out more.
It is very important that you claim housing benefit as soon as you think you may be entitled to it as claims are not automatically backdated.
If you get housing benefit you must tell Daventry District Council about any changes in your circumstances that may affect your entitlement eg an increase in earnings or someone moving into your home.
If the council pays you too much housing benefit then you are responsible for paying back this overpayment.
You should also complete any new forms that are sent to you – do not ignore them. If you do ignore them your benefits will be cancelled.
You can choose to have your housing benefit paid directly to Daventry & District Housing.
