About improvements

In our first five years we will spend £43m to deliver the following:

• 1,700 kitchen improvements

• 1,900 bathroom improvements

• 200 properties to have new external doors

• 1,700 properties to have new heating systems

• 350 properties to be rewired

• 280 properties to have windows replaced

• £1.2m programme of roof repairs.

When we improve your home we will:

• Complete a comprehensive survey of your home

• Inform you of the nature and duration of works and contractor, four weeks before work starts

• Provide a choice of kitchen and bathroom colours if these are being renewed

• Provide a tenant liaison officer to deal with any concerns you may have

• Make sure that your home is left clean and tidy and that water electricity, and cooking facilities, are provided at the end of each working day

• Provide temporary heating if needed at the end of each working day

• Complete all improvement work to your satisfaction and to a good standard.

The type of works carried out at your home will be identified from the survey we carry out and may include the following:

• New kitchen

• New bathroom

• New windows and external doors

• Electrical upgrade or rewire

• Central heating upgrade or renewal

How you can help us:

• Provide contact telephone numbers

• Pack away belongings in the work affected areas

• Notify us of any specific hazards

• Keep away from the work area, especially children and pets

• Fill out satisfaction forms and return them.

If you feel that you are unable to cope with the disruption of the works our surveyor will re-visit you to discuss your individual circumstances. If the works are to be deferred then you will need to sign a ‘disclaimer’, but it is essential that any health and safety works are still undertaken.
