Gardening Competition for Green Fingered Tenants
Green fingered gardeners in the Daventry area have just a few weeks left to get their entries in for Daventry and District Housing’s second annual gardening competition.
As last year’s gardening competition was so successful, Daventry and District Housing has taken the opportunity to encourage more tenants to enter by introducing a fourth category. This year’s categories are best individual garden, best communal garden, best hanging basket and best allotment / vegetable patch. The closing date for this year’s competition is 25th May 2009.
The gardening competition was set up to reward those tenants who take the time to care for their gardens and present them to a high standard. It also encourages tenants to take pride in their own gardens and local environment.
Hayley Davies, executive director of Daventry and District Housing, said: “The gardening competition is an excellent opportunity for tenants to showcase their gardens. Putting time and effort into their gardens not only benefits the individuals but everyone as a community. We are delighted that so many of our tenants take pride in their gardens and communal areas and hope that this inspires others to enter this year’s gardening competition.”
