This comprises:
- Four tenants, elected by tenants
- Four councillors chosen by Daventry District Council
- Four independents who are chosen by other Board Directors for their relevant expertise
The Board exists to:
- Oversee all the association’s activities
The Daventry & District Housing Board comprises:
Stan Watson
(Tenant Board Director)
Stan has been involved in housing issues in Daventry since the start of the Tenants’ Forum meetings in 2003 and has previously served as an elected member of South Northamptonshire District Council and as Mayor of Towcester on his local town council.
Jennie Hayes
(Tenant Board Director)
Jennie is an active member of the community and of the Tenants’ Forum. She has an active interest in repair issues and was involved in the selection of the major improvement programme partner.
Allen Newey
(Vice Chair, Tenant Board Director)
Allen has a wealth of managerial experience and chairs the Six Counties Kidney Patients’ Association, which raises funds for Churchill and Northampton hospitals.
Cllr Annette Dunn
(Council Board Director)
Annette has represented the Drayton ward for three years and previously sat on Cherwell District Council’s Joint Overview and Scrutiny Committee as well as being involved in a number of the council’s review panels.
Cllr Janet McCarthy
(Council Board Director)
Janet draws on 17 years as an elected member for the Braunston ward. She was chair of the council’s Planning Committee for three-and-a-half years and currently sits on the Overview and Scrutiny Steering Group, the Standards Committee and Planning Committee.
Cllr Richard Atterbury
(Council Board Director)
Richard has been an elected councillor for the Crick and Winnick ward for the last 15 years. Having lived in the area for the last 35 years he is also a local parish councillor and has served on the council’s Scrutiny Committee and has been Portfolio Holder for the Environment.
Elaine Bradbury
(Chair, Independent Board Director)
A legal representative for Mid Bedfordshire District Council for 20 years, Elaine has gained a wealth of experience in housing matters. She works closely with the council’s Strategic Housing Team, which keeps her up to speed with developments in social housing.
David Whalley
(Independent Board Director)
David has a wealth of experience in finance and business, having spent 43 years working for Lloyds TSB. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, he was responsible for running 122 branches as Area Director for the South East Midlands.
Ken Blair
(Independent Board Director)
Ken has strong business leadership skills gained in an accountancy career spanning 27 years. He currently works as Financial Controller at Cummins at Daventry.
Kevin Rodgers
(Independent Board Director)
Kevin has worked in social housing for 10 years and is part of the Senior Management Team at Whitefriars Housing Group in Coventry.
Cliff Marlow
(Tenant Board Director)
Cliff became a DDH Board Director in February 2008. He has been an active member of the Rural Tenant Group for a number of years, both pre and post stock transfer. Cliff is the Board Director repairs champion and as such takes a specific interest in this area of DDH’s work.
